Is it advisable to use the Hot Brush on wet hair?

For all those imagining, wouldn’t it be ideal if you could hop out of the shower, use your Hot Brush and walk out the door with dry, straight hair in a matter of minutes?

We’re sorry to burst your bubble, but the Hot Brush is meant to be used neither on sopping wet nor on damp hair.

It’s always advisable to use the Hot Brush only on dry hair. As, it works similar to a flat iron, which you should NEVER use on wet hair! This is because wet hair is more prone to damage when styled at high temperatures. Straightening wet hair will not produce the desired results and will only damage your hair.

Because, when you heat water it expands, this also applies to the water inside your hair. As the water molecules inside your hair expand, they can cause some serious damage to your hair shaft and result in split ends or even burn your tresses.

All styling tools except a blowdryer are not meant to be used on wet hair. That includes flat irons, curling irons, wands, straightening brushes, crimpers, etc.

Whereas, the Blow brush is safe to use on damp hair since it works on the principle of a dryer. But the Hot Brush isn’t.

To sum up, using a Hot Brush on wet or damp hair is a big NO-NO! Make sure that your hair is absolutely dry and doesn’t have any residue or build-up to achieve effortless and safe straight tresses.
