With a one-time investment and a few occasional trims, you have saved yourself a lot of traveling & waiting time at the salon plus a lot of money.

What is it actually?
It is a trimmer which chops off split-ends and fly away hair which could potentially become split ends. It doesn’t affect the hair length as it only captures the split-ends during the cutting process.

What it is not.
It is not a hair straightener nor a hair trimmer. It doesn’t trim your hair length. It beautifully trims off the split ends and excessive flyaway.

Can I use on all hair types?
The trimmer is made to work on straight or slightly wavy hair. Results may vary in curly or very curly hair.

Does it reduce my hair length?
No. It just trims off a few millimeters of split-ends and fly-away hair.

Functionality:

1. This is a chargeable device and can be charged with any compatible charger. A charge of 3 hours allows a run-time of approximate 2-2.5 hours under normal conditions. Overcharging the device will reduce the life of the battery and hence affect the overall device.
   
2. Red light indicates an empty battery and a green light indicates a full charge.
   
3. A flashing light will indicate that the battery is down to 10% and a need to recharge the device.
   
4. The device has a cutting roller which moves in either direction. There are two arrow buttons to indicate the direction.
5. Remember to always move the trimmer towards the floor and not the away from it. The two-direction function is provided for ease and convenience of use with right or left hand on either side of the hair. 

For best results:
This device works like a hair trimmer and hence it needs hair to be clean and in a natural state to cut off the split ends properly. Natural hair oils make hair stick to each other thus not allowing the device to capture and cut off the split-ends and fly-away hair.

Before using the device:

1. Wash your hair properly with your usual shampoo.
2. Blast dry the hair to 100 % dry. Do not blow style or do any tight defined blow-dries. 
   
3. Let your hair settle to their natural state.
   
4. After your hair have come to their natural state, you can start using the device as explained below.
   

How to use:

1. Test run the device in your hand, not directly on your hair, to understand how it really works.
   
2. The device has two arms like a hair straightener. They are clamped together when the device is locked.
   
3. The lower arm holds the cutting mechanism and the hair collection chamber. The upper arm has the power and direction control switches.
   
4. Remember the device has to be always held such that the arm with the cutting mechanism is always below the hair section. Do not use it in an inverted position with the cutting mechanism above the hair section.
   
5. The device is powered on and off with the help of a power switch. The switch also acts as a direction changer for the cutting mechanism.
   
6. Switch on the device by pressing the power switch once. The cutting mechanism gets activated by an automated sensor on when the arms are brought together.
   
7. The cutting mechanism automatically glides your hair up or down as indicated by the arrow lights.
   
8. Always remember that you have to move the device in parallel to the floor and towards the floor and not in any other way. Any odd experimentation will block your hair in the cutting mechanism and damage your hair and the device too.
   

Now after understanding the working of the device, you can start using it on your hair. 

1. Take a medium flat section of hair and place it above the cutting mechanism like your place a hair section in between straightener plates.
   
2. Glide the section in the same speed as the cutting mechanism keeps pushing it. Don’t force high speed. Also, do not attempt to keep the device at one spot on the hair section.
   
3. Treat each section of the hair 2-3 times for excessive split-ends and 1-2 times for moderate split-ends.
   
4. Split-ends are collected in the chamber at the bottom of the cutting mechanism. Clean the chamber only after you are done with the trimming session. 
   

When using this electrical device, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:

1. Do not use while bathing or under a shower.
2. Do not place or store device where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink. 
3. Do not place in or drop into water or other liquid. 
4. Always unplug this device from the electrical outlet immediately after full-charge.
5. Unplug this device before cleaning, removing, or assembling parts. 
6. To reduce the risk of burns, fire, electric shock, or injury to persons: A device should never be left unattended when plugged in.
7. Close supervision is necessary when this device is used by, on or near children or individuals with certain disabilities.
8. Use this device only for its intended use as described in this manual. Do not use attachments not recommended by Alan Truman.
9. Never operate this device if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water. Return the device to a Alan Truman authorized Repair Station for examination or repair.
10. Keep the device away from heated surfaces.
11. Never drop or insert any object into any opening.
12. WARNING: Do not use the device in the bath, shower, or near the washbasin or other containers that contain water or liquids. 
13. Do not place the device where it may come into contact with water or other liquids.
14. Do not try to insert any object in any of the device's openings.
15. Do not use the device if the power cord is damaged. It must be replaced by the manufacturer or an after sales service-center or by a sufficiently qualified person in order to prevent any risk of an accident.
16. Do not use outdoors or operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being administered.
17. To disconnect, turn the device's switch off and then remove plug from the power outlet. This device is not intended for use by children and other persons whose physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge prevents them from using the device safely without supervision or instruction by a responsible person to ensure that they can use the device safely.
